Gabrielle Tyrie (she/her) is a photobased artist, writer, educator and runs the contemporary art publication Necktie. Her practice is motivated by visualizing scientific concepts and seeks to as a means of discovery. Working primarily in cyanotype, she uses the medium to reference its history. Tyrie is fascinated by pseudo, fantastic as well as actual empirical methods. She has been in group exhibitions at TMU Artspce and Gallery 44 and had solo exhibition at the Image Centre. Tyrie is a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University with a BFA in Photography Studies. She lives in Toronto.
